Hi Surfers, The swell from Cyclone Uesi has finally hit The Bay and will increase during the day. There is plenty of motion in the ocean with lots of water moving as well as fresh water running in from all the rain we are getting. The experts can get waves by jumping in at Wategos and getting out at The Wreck. Novice surfers should stay out of the surf for your own safety for sure. Gaz

B.O.M: Weather for Byron Coast:

WINDS: East to northeasterly 15 to 20 knots turning southeasterly in the late afternoon.

SEAS:  1 to 1.5 metres. SWELL: Easterly 2 to 2.5 metres, tending northeasterly 2 to 2.5 metres around midday. WEATHER: Clouds & Showers heavy at times in the morning and early afternoon. The chance of a thunderstorm. CAUTION: Large and powerful surf conditions in the afternoon and evening are expected to be hazardous for coastal activities such as Surfing, Crossing Bars by boat and Rock Fishing.
