There are waves for the experts on Tallow Beach early before the winds swing to the south east.

Clarkes Beach is the pick today for surf lessons & longboarders can hit The Pass.

Strong Wind Warning for Friday for Byron Coast

WINDS: South to southwesterly 15 to 20 knots, increasing to 20 to 25 knots in the afternoon, reaching up to 30 knots offshore south of Cape Byron in the evening.

SEAS:  1 to 1.5 metres, increasing to 2 to 2.5 metres by early evening.

SWELL: Southerly 1 to 1.5 metres.

WEATHER: Partly cloudy. 90% chance of showers offshore north of Yamba, 50% chance elsewhere. The chance of a thunderstorm this morning.
